Current Status of Accelerated Examination Program (AEP) in Taiwan

aiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO) began “Accelerated Examination Program (AEP)” on January 1, 2009. The program is similar to Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) between foreign patent offices, and aims to speed up the examination of invention patent applications in Taiwan. According to TIPO, statistics on cases filed with TIPO by utilizing this AEP up to the end of June 2009 are summarized as below.
